We are looking for an experienced full-time Senior Carer to lead and motivate our team of Carers. You should have experience of leading a small team to deliver quality resident-centred care and of caring for older people in a nursing home setting.
This important post offers an opportunity to develop your managerial potential. You will need good care skills, a proven track record in supervision, IT skills and must hold NVQ3 in Care. You must also demonstrate initiative and strong leadership. Duties include assisting the nurse-in–charge with the management of the shift, supervising the junior carers and senior care staff to ensure care is delivered to a high standard, assist the nurse with dressings, PEG feeding and changing of catheter bags, auditing residents’ weight and blood pressures and report any changes to the nurse in charge.
This full-time role is for a 40 hour week, working days to include some weekends.
Key skills: Ability to communicate effectively, enthusiasm, affinity for older people, and ability to work in partnership with other members of the team.
